"On-site preventive maintenance of MUNSCH pumps

In day-to-day plant operation, there is hardly any time for preventive maintenance. Yet, proper equipment maintenance often helps avoid downtimes, reduce repair costs and increase service life. Ultimately, this means that proactive maintenance can drastically reduce the lifecycle costs of your equipment.

At production sites operating multiple pumps in particular, our on-site maintenance service offers you significant savings potential. At the same time, MUNSCH‘s experienced service technicians give your operating staff valuable tips for the operation of our pumps. MUNSCH’s maintenance service package comprises two modules: condition assessment and complete pump overhaul.

Condition assessment

This module comprises a condition assessment (assembly and operational validation) of the pump in the installed condition. The pump inspection reveals potential operating problems or installation faults, thus preventing problems from happening. Our comprehensive inspection program keeps your pumps up and running:

  • visual inspection with leak test
  • visual inspection of pump connections and piping
  • vibration analysis
  • bearing temperature measurement
  • laser alignment testing for pumps in back pull-out design (not possible with close-coupled and vertical pumps) – including alignment report
  • replacement of coupling pads, coupling realignment followed by a test run, if required
  • relubrication of bearings or oil change, if necessary
  • inspection report incl. test reports
  • calculation of lifecycle costs in individual cases

Pump overhaul

This module comprises the complete disassembly of the pump after removal from the plant. In the process, the key pump components and wear parts are inspected and overhauled or replaced, if necessary. After completion of the general overhaul, the pump will be fully operational again. The overhaul will be fully documented. The measures performed as part of the pump overhaul cover a wide variety of potential trouble sources and include:

  • disassembly, cleaning and condition assessment of components
  • preparation of a condition report with photo documentation
  • preparation of a cost estimate
  • if necessary: repair of pump components, replacement with stocked components
  • laser coupling alignment for pumps in back pull-out design (not possible with close-coupled and vertical pumps) – including alignment report
  • pump startup
  • overhaul report incl. test reports
  • calculation of lifecycle costs in individual cases
  • pump reassembly
