Thus, horizontal centrifugal pumps are not able to draw the liquid from a deeper level. If the use of a vertical pump is not feasible or desirable, a priming pot can be installed between the suction pipe and the horizontal pump. This provides self-priming capability and allows horizontal centrifugal pumps to be upgraded to self-priming pumps.
